TAAMEER Group Expands Its Investments in Qetaifan Island North with New Projects Worth Over QAR 1.4 Billion

A new acquisition agreement with Qetaifan Projects strengthens the strategic partnership between the two parties, alongside ongoing development and preparations to launch new projects ahead of Cityscape Qatar 2026

TAAMEER Group has announced the signing of a new acquisition agreement with Qetaifan Projects, the developer of Qetaifan Island North, under which the Group is acquiring additional plots in the island’s southern high-rise area to develop real estate projects with a total value exceeding QAR 1.4 billion. The move strengthens the Group’s investment presence on the island and reaffirms its confidence in the future of Qatar’s real estate market and its growth opportunities.

The agreement builds on the existing strategic cooperation between the two parties, which previously saw TAAMEER Group acquire a number of plots to develop an integrated destination named Canal Bay District, where the Group has commenced development works and launched several residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

The destination includes Canal Walk, a 580-metre promenade along the western waterfront (Jibla), bringing together spaces for walking, shopping, restaurants, cafés and recreational facilities, alongside Canal Residence and Carlton House, which comprises a hotel, hotel apartments and residences carrying a distinctive hospitality brand.

The Group is also preparing to unveil a new five-star hotel project under a prestigious international hospitality brand, as part of its efforts to attract international brands and strengthen Canal Bay District’s position as a destination combining upscale living, hospitality, shopping and entertainment.

The agreement was signed in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Nasser Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Chairman and Managing Director of Qetaifan Projects, and Mr. Mohamed Hussain Al Ali, Chairman and Group CEO of TAAMEER Group, reaffirming the continued cooperation between the two parties to develop distinctive projects that contribute to the diversity of Qetaifan Island North’s real estate offering and enhance its investment appeal.

TAAMEER Group intends to unveil details of its new projects planned for the acquired plots in the coming days, ahead of the opening of the fourth edition of the Qatar Real Estate Forum – Cityscape Qatar 2026, as part of its plans to introduce new residential and investment opportunities to the market.

Sheikh Nasser Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani: Continued Cooperation with TAAMEER Reflects Investors’ Confidence in the Future of Qetaifan Island North

On this occasion, H.E. Sheikh Nasser Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Chairman and Managing Director of Qetaifan Projects, said: “Our continued cooperation with TAAMEER Group and the expansion of its investments in Qetaifan Island North reflect investors’ growing confidence in the island in particular, and in its strengths and promising growth opportunities.”

His Excellency added: “The impact of these investments extends beyond the real estate sector, making a valuable contribution to tourism, hospitality and entertainment, enhancing the island’s appeal and supporting the growth of the local real estate market. This cooperation serves our vision at Qetaifan Projects to develop integrated, sustainable destinations that bring together residential living, hospitality, entertainment and investment, and contribute to the development of the State of Qatar.”

Mohamed Hussain Al Ali: Our New Investments Reflect Our Confidence in the Qatari Market and Our Vision for Developing Integrated Destinations

For his part, Mr. Mohamed Hussain Al Ali, Chairman and Group CEO of TAAMEER Group, said:

“This acquisition marks a new phase in TAAMEER Group’s expansion in Qetaifan Island North and reaffirms our confidence in its future and promising investment potential. We value our partnership with Qetaifan Projects, which has led to the commencement of development at Canal Bay District and the launch of distinctive projects within an integrated destination that reflects our vision for modern real estate development.”

He added:

“Our investments focus on developing integrated destinations with sustainable value, combining quality design, strategic locations and the attraction of global brands. Our new acquisition to develop projects worth over QAR 1.4 billion is an extension of this vision. We look forward to unveiling their details ahead of the opening of the fourth edition of the Qatar Real Estate Forum – Cityscape Qatar, as part of our plans to continue growing and strengthen the Group’s presence in the Qatari real estate market.”

An Investment Vision Beyond Individual Projects

The new acquisition forms part of TAAMEER Group’s strategy to expand its real estate portfolio and develop mixed-use destinations, alongside the growth of its operations in regional and international markets.

Through its existing and new projects in Qetaifan Island North, the Group continues to strengthen its presence in the real estate development sector by delivering projects that combine quality of life, upscale hospitality and long-term investment value, in line with its vision: Building the Future for Today’s World.
