Qatar's Men's Beach Volleyball Teams Open Asian Games Campaign with Wins

Qatar's two men's beach volleyball teams made a strong start at the 20th Asian Games, “Aichi-Nagoya 2026,” currently being held in Japan, after both won their opening matches.

“Qatar 1,” consisting of Sharif Younes and Ahmed Tijan, defeated the Philippines, represented by Abdilleh and Francisco, 2-0 (21-7 and 21-10) in Group 1. “Qatar 2,” consisting of Mousa Al-Khair and Mohammed Ihab, defeated South Korea, represented by Sangbin and Jongtaek, by the same score, 2-0 (21-13 and 21-9), in Group 4.

“Qatar 2” will play its next match the day after tomorrow against Sri Lanka’s Sadun and Delipa in the second round of Group 4. “Qatar 1” will face Oman’s Mazen and Hood next Sunday in the second round of Group 1.

In the women’s competition, Qatar’s second team, consisting of Malak Mohammed and Shaghaf Amin, lost today to Thailand’s Salinda and Patcharaporn 2-0 in Group 8. Qatar’s first team, consisting of Haya Ashraf and Laila Mohammed, began its campaign yesterday with a 2-0 loss to hosts Japan. Source: QNA
